Design Work
An obsessive attention to detail and high-quality coding techniques add up to substantially above-average results trusted by large organizations across various industries.
This is a sampling of our work; further examples are available upon request.
Blogger / Google
For their big 2004 Blogger relaunch, Google contracted a number of well-known visual designers (through San Francisco-based Stopdesign) to contribute work for a set of new default Blogger templates. We got to work alongside some of the best in the business, folks like Douglas Bowman, Dan Cederholm, Todd Dominey, Dan Rubin, and Jeffrey Zeldman. Our contribution included three variations on a theme, dubbed Snapshot Madder, Sable, and Tequila. (Spring 2004)
css Zen Garden
The one that started it all. The Zen Garden is a well-regarded collaborative gallery for the web design community. Built and maintained by Dave Shea, it has also become the focus of a book written by the same and published by New Riders. Designs contributed: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 13, 25, 64, and 100 (Ongoing)
Rosenfeld Media
Rosenfeld Media is a brand new publishing company with some fresh ideas for the User Experience industry. Bright Creative was contracted to design a visual identity and printed materials for the company, as well as design and develop a comprehensive web site for multiple authors. Using a heavily customized version of Movable Type, some of the highlights of the Rosenfeld Media site are the weblogs for signed authors, to allow them to communicate with their potential audience during and after the writing process. (Spring 2006)
TypePad / Six Apart
The creators of the popular Movable Type and TypePad weblogging software approached Bright Creative to build a series of templates for the launch of a new mobile service. 7 styles were designed, then coded to be compatible with 5 layout variations, for a total of 35 possible combinations. All this in 2 weeks. Hey, who needs sleep? (Autumn 2004)
Web Directions North
Bringing the popular Australian web conference to Canada, Web Directions North kicks off in February 2007. As an organizer of the event, Bright Creative was responsible for creation of the logo and site design. (Summer 2006)
